Downtown Store

Customer Appreciation Sales! (and Free Watchmen Pre-Screen Tix)

I have posted the dates for the 16th annual Cus Appreciation Sales in the Events Calendar. The 3 suburban stores will be having their sales on Saturday March 7th from 11am to 8pm. This year each store will be featuring its own specials and discounts. The specifics for each store will be posted next Monday on their individual store pages at downtowncomics.com. As always back issues will be 50% off. Savings on everything in the stores will range up to 75%! At the Downtown Store(Sale on March 14) we have a large collection of comics from 1978 to present which was recently purchased. It is unique in that every title is a complete run. So if you're looking for Web of Spidey 37 for some reason I most definitely have it.

WATCHMEN, for those living under comic rocks, is being released on March 6th. You can get an additional 5% off at any of our sales by presenting your ticket stub or receipt of tix purchase to the friendly DTComics guy who is pleasantly helping you. This 5% is good only on sale dates.

...and about that WATCHMEN pre-screening...

Kerasotes Showplace 16 IMAX
I-465 at US 31S in Southern Plaza
Indianapolis

Ok, what we'll do this time is give out 10 pairs of tickets each day for 5 days. Today (Friday 20th), the first 10 people to post a Downtown Comics badge in any Watchmen forum(other than DTComics forums) will get 1 pair of Watchmen tix. You can find the badges here If you cant figure the badges out, you can sing the praises of our stores in any Watchmen forum. Next post a link back to that forum in the comments section of this article.

Why do I think this will get totally confusing for some people? Anyway, 10 pairs of tickets today only. New contest tomorrow.

Saturday Feb 21st contest--
Start a new topic on any of our forums and get a reply from another member. The subject content can be anything but remember you must get someone to respond.

1st 10 topics with a response get a pair of tickets. Winners from day 1 are excluded from winning more.

I tried to embed it, but it doesn't look like it worked. The link is still there though. Is that good enough for tickets?

I guess this is the point where I say--I pair of tix for each member. No entering your neighbor, friend, dog etc.

Ben Olson and SaintSaucey have tix so far

A View From My Local Comics Shop: Best of 2009 and More

In the spirit of Newsarama’s own Readers’ Favorites of 2009 Tourney, I thought I’d get a view from my local comics shop and see what my friend in comics, Chris Ureta Casos, the long-time buyer for Comics Dungeon, here in Seattle, had to say about comics in 2009 and much more. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer two issues of [...]

Comics Grinder: Fall Out Toy Works

We have an appropriate comic to consider this holiday season, a story involving a toy maker. But this story is not as sweet as it may seem, as often is the case with the good stuff. Fall Out Toy Works is an unusual comic. If you follow Comics Grinder, you know I’m a huge fan of [...]
