Trailer for Star Wars - The Old Republic...pretty fantastic!

Now if only George Lucas could write and direct as well as the game companies do.

This looks pretty sweet. My question is, why does everything Star Wars have to be pre-original trilogy? Why can't we get a game after Return? Even if they do just do something based off the novels.

Old republic is a great era because both sith and jedi exist in numbers that offer limitless story opportunities. Plus this game will be built on the foundations of the first 2 KOTOR games (awesome). My question is why can't we get a whole movie done this way (ala that final fantasy movie from 6-7 years ago). This was quite possibly the most awesome 4 min of star wars ever.

well if they do a Star Wars movie in the FF style then let's hope they go for good art and story telling like Advent Children over good art and no story (The Spirits within).

I'm just getting tired of the old republic era. I see your point, but Lucas ruined Star Wars by spending too much time in that era. If he loved it so much, then he should have made the first three movies in that time period.

Superpowered Prose: China Mieville’s KING RAT

You could argue that the sewer-trolling, wall-shimmying, supernaturally powered protagonist of China Mieville’s King Rat is not really a superhero. He doesn’t wear a crazy costume, he doesn’t really fight crime, and since he counts garbage-eating as one of his powers, maybe there’s good reason to distance him from the likes of Superman and Spider-Man. [...]

The Fourth Kind: A Failed Experiment in Suggestibility

“The Fourth Kind” begins with its lead actress, Milla Jovovich, insisting that “real” footage was used wherever possible throughout the film, including audio and film recordings. This is followed by the “real” footage of the film’s director interviewing a strikingly alien-looking “real” Dr. Abigail Tyler. This creepy woman starts to ramble on, giving clues [...]
