Downtown Comics

The source for comics and pop culture in Indianapolis since 1993

I got the Spider-Woman motion comic Weds. on iTunes. I thought it was really good. Episode 1 is titled Agent of S.W.O.R.D. and is around 10 minutes long. The art is fantastic, and I thought Bendis did a great job on the script/writing too. There is some great dialogue between Agent Abigail Brand and Jessica. It is only 99 cents for this first episode and i felt it was well worth it. Can't wait for the next episode, and for the comic to come out! What does everyone else think?

I liked it. I think the voice acting seems a little off because I've had different voices for all of these characters in my head for so long. The art is incredible and I can't wait to see the print version!

Episode 4 was definitely the best so far. The book is way better than the motion comic, I definitely recommend it over the motion comic.

Loved episode 4 as well! I'd like to see some other comics too. I know Whedon and Cassady's Astonishing X-Men is in the works. I may have to check that out as well.

Episode 5 was pretty good to.

All 5 episodes are on HULU for free already, http://www.hulu.com/spider-woman-agent-of-sword

Great for everyone who was curious but didn't want to shell out $10

Maleeve's art is fine. The voice acting sucks though.

The motion comic made all of the action look really cheesy. I have been enjoying the comic way more.

Aw Jimmy Woo (Oh, that guy on the far left is supposed to be Jimmy Woo, by the way), why do you have to spoil Ken “Gorilla Man” Hale’s fun? If Marvel Boy doesn’t mind having a miniseries with the word “Uranus” in the title, why not let him? Anyway, it looks like everyone finally [...]

Chuck back in action on DVD, TV this week

NBC’s Chuck: The Complete Second Season hits the stores today on DVD and Blu-Ray. Go buy it. Chock full of geek humor, clever homages and plain, old-fashioned great characters, Chuck is the story of a brilliant-but-underachieving retail employee who becomes conscripted to work for the government when a top-secret intelligence-gathering computer is downloaded into his brain, leaving the [...]

WORLD OF HURT - “The Thrill-Seekers” Episode 19

(Click the image above for a larger version of the strip.) WORLD OF HURT - The Thrill-Seekers - Episode 19: “Delivering Pain” This was more like it.  To make up for, what I felt were lackluster efforts in the previous two weeks, I decided to bring some action, a recap panel, and two tiers of bonecrushing action. The [...]
