Sweet collection! I doubt many people are on dial-up these days. Where'd you get the display cases that hold your statues? I'd like to line an entire wall of my basement with display cases one of these days to display some stuff. I thought about using shelves, but then you have a dusting nightmare.

Thanks. As for the display cases, I got them at an auction house actually... met a guy that runs an auction house and asked if he had any and he said yes...I went to see them and was able to get them for $50 each! Which is a great deal. Two of them have working lights but the other one (with the Marvel characters in it) I need to fix. The smaller cases like the ones with Spawn and the Colts stuff in it I got from some guy that owned an auto parts place that was selling them by his house.

That is a freakin' awesome collection. How did you afford all of that stuff?!?!?!?!?!??!!? You should open it up for tours.

Haha, thanks man. Actually a group of 3 people came down from Chicago about a month ago to check it out and get a tour. :D
I've been collecting for a long time so I can afford it by getting a little at a time over a long time...plus I don't really have many other hobbies that I spend money on.

Well it's a great collection. I hope one day I get the chance to tour it.

Do you shop at Downtown Comics? If so which one? I still need to have Glenn stop by to check it out as well.

I only frequent DTC once in a blue moon, but when I go it's almost always the one in Castleton.

Im a gigantic Batman fan and I have ambitions of creating something liek this when i get older and my own home. I want to design my future Basment after the Batcave and this gave me some great ideas as how to do it. thanks for the pics!

I've seen pics of a home theatre that was decked out like the Batcave, it was friggen sweet! You'll have to get a giant penny to stick in your batcave basement. haha. :)

And the giant t-rex

Reply to This

Yup, I was planning on making the Penny the centerpiece, then getting the T-Rex somehow. I would like to get two glass cases for replica costumes of Batman & Robin, and maybe one for Nightwing. But, yeah, i couldnt figure out how i could setup my memorabilia without looking tacky, and i really like your cases. I thought instead of having a cases or two for replica costumes, i could just do the cases how you have them, and itd be just as effective. I have a pretty large collection for the 9 months that ive been back into comics, but if i still had all my childhood memorablia, it would be closer to yours. I got back into comic collecting after my dad passed, i realized how vital to my sanity it was that i have a hobby, and comics are perfect for me. right now, im just focusing on getting frames for all my posters and getting some of my more expensive comics graded. Then, ill move on to figures and statues. But, i pretty much only buy toys of Batman/Joker. The last thing i ordered i nthe toys department, was the 1:6 scale Dark Knight Heath Ledger-Joker Bank Robber figurine, because i thought i would have to spend more to get it later down the line. Because at the moment, im really just tying to get my comic collection back to what it when i was younger. I've got it back up to around 900 issues, so im, getting there slowly. I had around 5,000 when i was an adolescent. No matter how many i have, there's always a hundred other books i want. never ending, but thats how i like it.

..and i've problay met you at the West store before. if you know Glenn, chances are ive met you. im kinda hard to forget, ive got a studder and am 6'5. if you were there free comic book day, i was there, spending 3 hours going through all the back issues.
