Downtown Comics

The source for comics and pop culture in Indianapolis since 1993

Just dropping you a quick line to tell you about a website that some of the users of another forum have started.
It's called TheHerohouse.net

The concept for the site is simple. Gather the coolest tidbits of news involving Anime,Comics,Movies & Games and update it every day with the top stories in each of those categories. Sort of like a Table of contents for the web's coolest stuff.

In addition to the linked and embedded content I just described we'll feature Interviews with Comic Pro's ( We have one up right now Silver Age Marvel writer and Ghost Rider creator Gary Friedrich) and columns by our users and some dedicated contributors.

We also have a forum where users can interact and That can be found here:
http://theherohouseforum.freeforums.org/The Hero House Forum

We do not sell advertising but we do give free ads and plugs to the retailers and other websites that w e think are doing what they can to expand the hobby. If you know of a site or retailer or convention promoter that we should partner with
please contact us: wayniac5@att.net

I edited the post. the idea of the site is to form a more neutral ground for all the comic fans in town and promote the hobby in general instead of just to a finite set of customers. It should help you guys and your competitors and the fans in general. the idea is to not cut the pie up in smaller pieces put to create a bigger pie in general. I've got no dog in this fight. I just hate seeing the hobby get smaller and smaller every year and wan t to bring more people into it.

I don't know if you saw the site but I put a rotating ad at the top of every page and featuring all the stores, conventions, etc etc . Also If you have some thing specific to promote ( store signings etc etc try to co-ordinate with me early and i will help you get the word out). Say in the case of the Roger Stern signing i could do a phone interview with him and put it up a week or three before and put a permanent ad up promoting the event.

Comics Grinder: Fall Out Toy Works

We have an appropriate comic to consider this holiday season, a story involving a toy maker. But this story is not as sweet as it may seem, as often is the case with the good stuff. Fall Out Toy Works is an unusual comic. If you follow Comics Grinder, you know I’m a huge fan of [...]
