The young boy is named Tough, and eventually grows up to join the fire brigade where he becomes the FireSpector and has the ability to communicate and control the fire sprites.

Figure Specs Rundown:
12" tall
cloth/faux leather clothing
mostly die cast accessories

Articulation: Ball jointed neck, ball jointed shoulders, ball jointed elbows, ball jointed hips, wrists, waist, stomach, knees, ankle/foot.

Packaging:

The packaging for the figure is top notch! Beautifully put together with great graphics and bright colors. The FireSpector logo on the front and side are printed in iridescent reflective ink, much like the gimmick chromium covers on some comic books. Simply stunning.

The figure is packaged in book style packaging that opens up to reveal some graphic novel images along with the figure and all the accessories that are included beautifully displayed. The box flap is magnetic so you don't run the risk of tearing the box that you might if it were held shut by velcro. On the inside of the flap is a summary of the story behind the FireSpector.

The great thing about the design of the FireSpector's packaging is the figure's easy removal and the fact that it can be returned to the packaging just as easy. So whether you want to display it loose or in the package, no matter which you decide, you can easily return it to the re-sealable packaging if needed.

The FireSpector comes with a ton of highly detailed accessories as well. Including his insulated coat, helmet, oxygen air jet engine, Anger Sword, Confess Axe, 2 silk hammers, belt with holster, and a gun with two removable clips!

The great thing about the accessories is that most of them are die cast metal. Only the gun appears not to be. One thing I noticed about the figure as I was reviewing it was that there was no place to store the Anger Sword when the FireSpector is fully decked out... but come to find out I was wrong! The sword fits perfectly into the top of the Confess Axe! What a great design. All the detailing on the accessories is top of the line!

Great intricate detailing on all of the accessories!

One accessory I was a bit put off by were these... chains. I couldn't really figure out what they were for... I assumed since they had a small magnet on one end that they were to connect to the metal silk hammers...but the magnets didn't stick... I tried to put the two magnets together and they were polar opposites... there was no other way to attach them to the hammers either. I did some research and found that from the proto pictures they indeed are supposed to be a chain that links the two silk hammers together... but I have yet to find a way to make that happen. Needless to say not having them takes nothing away from the figure itself.

The figure itself is 12" tall and fully articulated with removable outfit. His entire outfit is fully removable aside from his mask, gloves, and boots. (Sorry ladies, no pics of that. :D ) Great detail and craftsmanship on all aspects of the clothing.

He can be displayed with or without his full fireman gear including helmet, coat, and oxygen tank.

Included is a FireSpector dress up guide to show you how to gear him up.

Again, great detail and craftsmanship on the entire outfit for the figure. They even went so far as to make working pockets on the coat. Some things to note are that it takes a delicate hand to button and unbutton the coat... the buttons are small and somewhat of a pain to maneuver, I gave up and left the coat unbuttoned, which I prefer anyway in order to display the chest emblem and belt accessories.

Gas mask tubes are bendable but delicate.

All in all an excellent figure from Sideshow and Hot Toys! Any way you decide to display him will add a great unique collector piece to your collection. Only 200 of them will be imported to the US so grab one while you can!

Well, until next time fellow collectors, Punkg42 bids adieu!
